Ken Karunaas on meeting Suriya, Karthi: 'The kid in me is holding this close forever'

Suriya and Karthi met Ken Karunaas and the team behind Youth, which opened in theatres on March 19

Ken Karunaas and the team behind the comedy drama, Youth, met with actors Suriya and Karthi, on Tuesday. Youth, which is Ken's directorial debut, opened in theatres on March 19.

Taking to his X handle, Ken wrote, "Thank you Surya sir, Karthi sir… the kid in me is holding this close forever. Will forever cherish this moment in my life."

Meanwhile, Karuppiah C Ram who produced the film under his Parvathaa Entertainments banner, wrote, "'The project has truly landed in the right hands as producers.' Hearing you call Youth a lovely film means a lot to us. Suriya sir , Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to watch the film after a long day of shoot, and meeting us at midnight. It means more than what I could express."

He added, "Karthi sir, from giving us the first clap at the pooja to now hearing that you enjoyed the film, it feels like a special full-circle moment. The first email ID I ever created was paiyakaruppiah@gmail.com, out of admiration for you. From being a fanboy to receiving your appreciation, it feels truly surreal."

He also thanked producer Rajasekar Pandian of Suriya's 2D Entertainments, by writing, "Thank you, Rajasekarpandiyan sir , for initiating our first day of shoot and being there for us until now. Your support throughout means a lot to us. Feeling grateful and motivated to do even better."

The cast of the film includes Anishma Anilkumar, Devadarshini, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Priyanshi Yadav, Meenakshi Dinesh and Abison Thevarasa. Apart from directorial duties, Ken has also headlined the film as the high school hopeless romantic, Praveen, whose multiple attempts at finding love is the core of the film.
