Youth box office day 5:
The box office run of Youth saw a slowdown on Day 5, with the film collecting Rs 1.83 crore (net) on Monday, as per a report on Sacnilk.com, following a strong upward trend over the opening weekend.
Despite the dip, the film’s overall performance remains steady. After five days in theatres, Youth’s total India net collections now stand at Rs 19.33 crore, while the India gross has moved past the Rs 22 crore mark. Including overseas earnings of over Rs 4 crore, the film’s worldwide gross is inching closer to Rs 26 crore.
Directed by and starring Ken Karunaas, the comedy-drama had shown consistent growth through its first weekend. It opened with Rs 3.60 crore on Thursday, followed by Rs 3.50 crore on Friday, before seeing a jump to Rs 4.90 crore on Saturday and peaking at Rs 5.50 crore on Sunday.
The weekday drop, however, reflects the typical post-weekend trend, with Monday numbers falling significantly compared to Sunday’s high. Even so, the film has managed to hold on to a decent cumulative total, aided by positive word of mouth over its initial days.
An excerpt from CE's review of the film reads, "While GV Prakash Kumar’s score and songs were on point and did exactly what was required, the film did have one song too many. It felt like an easy way out rather than allowing the scenes to explore the emotions of the various characters."
Youth also stars Devadarshini; Suraj Venjaramoodu; Anishma Anilkumar ofSiraifame; Priyanshi Yadav; and Meenakshi Dinesh, among others. The film's technical team also includes cinematographer Viki and editor Nash. The film is produced by Karuppiah C Ram and Sulochana Kumar under their banners Paarvathaa Entertainments and Street Boy Studios, respectively.
