Following the makers' announcement that Suriya's upcoming actioner Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, is set for a theatrical release on May 14, it has been announced that the film's satellite rights have been bagged by the popular Tamil entertainment channel Zee Tamil.

The film features Trisha as the female lead, reuniting her with her Aaru (2005) co-star Suriya. The supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, acclaimed Malayalam actor Indrans, Sshivada, Lubber Pandhu fame Swasika, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi.

Karuppu's technical crew features music by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography by GK Vishnu, editing by Kalaivanan, art direction by Arun Venjaramoodu, and stunt choreography by Vikram Mor. The project also marks a reunion for Suriya with his NGK producers, as well as RJ Balaji with his Sorgavaasal makers — SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu of Dream Warrior Pictures.

Suriya, meanwhile, has his next with Venky Atluri, Vishwanath & Sons, opposite Mamitha Baiju. His 47th film, directed by Aavesham filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, also stars Nazriya Fahadh and Naslen.
