Actor Mirnaa, who played the role of Vasanth Ravi's wife and Rajinikanth's daughter-in-law in Jailer, is all set to reprise her role in the sequel of the Nelson directorial. At a recent college event, the actor was asked about what to expect from the film, to which she gave an update while also recounting her experience working with Rajinikanth.
On Jailer 2 she said, "You saw how powerful the interval block of Jailer was. That's how Jailer 2's interval block will also be. I won't tell you if I am there in the Jailer 2 interval block. You buy tickets and watch it in theatres to know."
Further, speaking about Rajinikanth, she added, "25 years ago, when I watched Padaiyappa as a child, I remember Ramya Krishnan's dialogue where she says, "Vayasanalum, un style um azhagum apdiye iruku." When I first met Rajinikanth sir on the sets of Jailer, that was the line that came to mind. I am blessed to be working with Sir for nearly three years now."
Jailer 2, which comes three years after Jailer, will see Rajinikanth reprising his role as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, alongside Ramya Krishnan, who plays his wife. While Shivarajkumar has confirmed his cameo reprisal in Jailer 2, the presence of other senior actors like Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff is yet to be confirmed. Vinayakan will also be seen in the upcoming film, despite his character's demise in the 2023 film.
New names added to the ensemble this time around include Jatin Sarna, Mithun Chakraborty, Santhanam, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vijay Sethupathi, Meghana Raj Sarja and Anna Rajan. Other big names like Shah Rukh Khan, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, and SJ Suryah are also expected to be part of the sequel's cast. There is also buzz about the appearance of Nora Fatehi in a dance number.
Plot details of the film are currently under wraps. Jailer 2 is produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner. On the technical front, the film has music by Anirudh. The first film's technical team members, such as cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan and editor R Nirmal, are also coming back for the sequel. The film is gearing up for release on June 12.
