Ever since actor Trisha made an appearance with Vijay at a wedding reception recently, social media users were sent into a tizzy and rumours were aplenty about their alleged relationship in the wake of Vijay's wife Sankgeetha filing for divorce. While debates and discussions filled the internet, the duo have refrained from commenting about it.
Fellow actor-politician Khushbu has now defended Trisha amidst growing backlash against the actor for joining her co-star at the ceremony. Calling her a "dignified woman", Khushbu spoke about the social media environment and how actors are under relentless scrutiny from internet users for every action they make. "Unfortunately, we are in a time where even if you sneeze, you want to blame it on someone else. What I know of both of them, with Trisha being very very close to me, she is one of the most dignified women I've ever met and the most gentlest soul," she said.
Khushbu also condemned the growing paparazzi culture in South India in the wake of Trisha being questioned repeatedly at the airport on the issue. "I wouldn't want to comment on paps who are going about following everywhere. This is the kind of system we have seen in Mumbai and not here. Unfortunately, it's starting here," she noted, adding, "And those who sit and comment are the people who are happy at looking into someone's lives rather than looking at the problems they are having. They enjoy or get a sadistic pleasure in commenting on someone else. And 99.9 per cent of them are not known to use. So anybody, for that matter, they are not responsible for what others comment and I don't think we need to waste our time responding to them."
This is not the first time Khushbu has taken a stance on the issue. Earlier, in an interview with IANS, she wondered why people are making the incident a "big deal" and emphasised that it was their personal life. "I don't understand what people have to do with this incident. It is their personal life. If their personal life affects people, we can talk about it. Their personal life has nothing to do with people. They will see their own life. People are not affected in any way," she added.
