The internet has been abuzz since actors Vijay and Trisha were spotted together at a wedding reception recently. Videos and pictures, which went viral on social media, paved way to heated social media debates and discussions about their alleged relationship after Vijay's wife Sankgeetha filed for divorce last week on claims of him having an extramarital affair with an unnamed actress.
Weighing in on the issue, fellow actor-politician Khushbu Sundar wondered why people are making the incident a "big deal" and emphasised that it was their personal life. "I don't understand what people have to do with this incident. It is their personal life. If their personal life affects people, we can talk about it. Their personal life has nothing to do with people," she said, in an interview with IANS. "They will see their own life. People are not affected in any way," she added.
When probed if the incident would affect Vijay's popularity, Khushbu denied it, while placing trust on audience's judgement of knowing whom to place their vote for. "I don't think it will affect anyone's personal life. He is a human being. Whether he is a leader or not. He is a common man like us. He has nothing to do with people's personal life," she said.
While Vijay has not openly addressed the chatter surrounding his personal life, he recently assured his fans and political supporters that he would take care of certain 'issues' in his life. At a campaign event this Saturday, the actor-politician acknowledged that 'many issues' have been circulating of late. Then, he told his supporters that he knows how they are fighting for him and getting hurt by these issues. "I will take care of all that," he said, telling his supporters not to feel worried or hurt but rather stay confident. "Don't be hurt, it's not worth it. Let us focus on people's problems together," he said.
While Vijay did not mention what the said issues are or whether these pertain to him on a personal level, netizens are connecting his comments to some of the recent controversies including the Karur stampede, Jana Nayagan release delay and his public appearance with Trisha.
