Pradeep Ranganathan's hit film Dude, which hit theatres last year for the Deepavali festival, was a box office hit, earning over Rs 100 crore in revenue. Directed by debutant Keerthiswaran, the romantic action comedy  had also garnered positive reviews from audiences, but with the trend of creating sequels on the rise, the filmmaker was recently probed about a second part to Dude.

Responding to the question in a recent event, Keerthiswaran chuckled and said, "My body couldn't stand for just one Dude film." His answer has put social media speculations and rumours to rest.

However, another Pradeep Ranganathan film might be getting a sequel. Recently, on the occasion of his birthday, the Love Today actor-director had hinted at a sequel to Dragon (2025) being in developement while replying to a social media post dedicated to him by filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu. However, further details on it have been kept under wraps.

Dude was Pradeep's fourth film as the lead. The film tells the story of cousins Agan (Pradeep) and Kural (Mamitha Baiju) who start a new event-planning venture. When they get close together for the business venture, one of them falls in love with the other and proposes marriage to the latter, making their relationship complicated. It marked a third consecutive 100-crore-grosser for Pradeep after Love Today and Dragon.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film also stars Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Aishwarya Sharma and Neha Shetty.

Meanwhile, Pradeep is currently awaiting the release of Vignesh Shivan's Love Insurance Kompany. The much-delayed sci-fi romantic entertainer has not locked a release date yet.
