Jana Nayagan: Vijay's last film before retirement, Jana Nayagan, was set to be screened before a revising committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Reports suggest, that due to a member of the revising committee falling sick, the screening has been postponed.

The revising committee was convened after a lengthy legal case between the CBFC and KVN Productions, the banner behind Jana Nayagan. After an evaluation committee watched the film and submitted their recommendations for the film in December 2025, a member of the original committee filed a complaint with the chairman of the CBFC, which alleged that the film violated the sentiments of certain religions and the Indian armed forces.

While the revising committee was set to view the film on March 9, the reported rescheduling possibly pushes the release of the film further. Earlier the Canadian distributor of the film, confirmed that Jana Nayagan, will release only after the Tamil Nadu State Assembly Elections.

Jana Nayagan is written and directed by H Vinoth, and is backed by Venkat K Narayana under his KVN Productions banner. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Priya Mani, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, among others. Anirudh has composed music for the film.
