The makers of Manithan Deivamagalam, starring Selvaraghavan and written and directed by Dennis Manjunath, dropped the first official teaser for the film earlier this Thursday. Selvaraghavan's actor brother Dhanush unveiled the teaser on the former's birthday. "Happy Birthday my brother and mentor Selvaraghavan sir. Glad to unveil the Manithan Deivamagalam teaser. Wishing the team all the very best," Dhanush wrote. For the uninitiated, Dhanush made his debut with director Selvaraghavan's 2002 film Thulluvadho Ilamai. He also starred in the director's subsequent films Kaadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai, Mayakkam Enna, and Naane Varuvean.

The teaser shows Selvaraghavan in two different get-ups; in one, he is an uncle who shares life wisdom to schoolkids, and in another, he is a prisoner soaked in blood. At one point, he tells the kids a story about the journey of an ice apple seller who uses up all his 'nongu' as tax by the time he reaches his destination. Elsewhere, he tells them that their birthland is part of who they are and that it is important how they pass it on to the next generation.

The film also stars Kushee Ravi, Kousalya, RS Sathish, YG Mahendra, Mime Gopi, Lirthika, Sudha, Jothikannan, and Salem Deepak, among others.

It is produced by Vijaya Sathish and RS Sathish under the banner of Vyom Entertainments. The makers are yet to reveal any plot specifics, although the teaser hints at a realistic and raw drama set in a village.

On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Ravi Varma K, music by AK Prriyan, and editing by Deepak S. Production on the film has been completed, and the makers revealed through the teaser that it would release soon.

As a director, Selvaraghavan's upcoming films include a sequel to his 2004 film 7G Rainbow Colony and Mental Manadhil, starring GV Prakash and Madhuri Jain. As an actor, he also has GRK19 with Gautham Ram Karthik.
