While Anaswara Rajan is gearing up to play the female lead for the first time in Tamil with Abishan Jeevinth in With Love, one of her other most-anticipated film remains 7G Rainbow Colony 2, the sequel to Selvaraghavan's cult-classic romantic drama released in 2004. In an exclusive interview with Cinema Express, the Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil actor expressed her excitement on working on the sequel and in a Selvaraghavan directorial.
"I have watched the first film. Even before hearing the story of the sequel, I almost confirmed it as I wanted to work with Selvaraghavan and wanted to be a part of the classic movie's second part," Anaswara said, while Abishan pitched in saying, "She would come and talk with us about working on the film and how excited she was. Anaswara has shared some beautiful memories with us."
Elaborating her experience working with Selvaraghan, she said, "It was great. It's a completely different school of work. It's has been a good learning process for me. I committed to the project as I wanted to work with him, so I am happy."
The original film that starred Ravi Krishna and Sonia Agarwal revolves around Kadhir, a happy-go-lucky guy, going under a character transformation after falling in love with Anitha. In a tragic turn of events, Anitha meets with a fatal accident while Kadhir, now in a well-paying job, leads his life still believing that Anitha is alive. Ravi will reprise his role while Anaswara Rajan will be seen as the female lead. Talking about her co-star, Anaswara said, "I was two years old when the first part released. He would share details about the original film, how it was made, its story and more."
The makers are tight-lipped about whether Sonia will reprise her role in the sequel. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja too has returned to the franchise. The star-studded cast also features Jayaram, along with Suman Shetty and Sudha, who are also returning to play their roles as Lakshmi Narayanan (Suman Setty) and Kadhir's mother, respectively.
On the technical front, Ramji is cranking the camera for 7G Rainbow Colony 2. The film is in its final stages of shooting and further updates are awaited.
Meanwhile, With Love is gearing up for release in theatres on February 6. The film marks Abishan's acting debut after making his first directorial with the hit comedy drama Tourist Family, released last year. With Love is directed by Madhan in his debut. Interestingly, he worked as an assistant director to Abishan in Tourist Family and to Prabhu Ram Vyas in Lover, starring Manikandan. The film is produced by Magesh Raj Pasilian's MRP Entertainment, the banner behind Tourist Family, along with Soundarya Rajinikanth's Zion Films.
