At the Vowels press meet on Tuesday, actor Yugi Sethu opened up about his character in the film and expressed his gratitude to his director for giving him the right character.

While describing Vowels' trailer, Yugi Sethu said, "A trailer should be like a girl's miniskirt: short enough to arouse curiosity and long enough to cover the essentials. Similarly, the trailer of Vowels arouses curiosity while also covering the essentials." The Anbe Sivam actor then revealed details about his role in the film. "Dhilip Kumar came to me with the story and offered me the role of Eros. Eros is a god of love. I have rejected nearly 200 films in the past 23 years. Most people don't know what role to give me in a film. But this film gave me an apt role," he shared.

Sethu, who has also worked as a writer on the film, was happy to have gotten the opportunity to improvise his lines on set. "I thank the filmmaker for giving me the freedom to improvise my lines. I have said everything I wished to say about love in this film. It has become difficult to write a story that goes for 2 hours and 30 minutes. This film has five stories, each lasting 30 minutes," he explained.

Then, the actor appreciated Chinni Jayanth, who is his co-star in the film. "He is one of the earliest mimicry artists in the film industry who made it big as an actor and comedian. Back then, we didn't even know what mimicry was. Today, Jayaram, Sivakarthikeyan, and Manikandan are experts, but he is the forefather."

Dhilip Kumar, Hemanth Kumar, Sangeeth, Santhosh Ravi, and Jagan Rajendran have helmed the five films in the Vowels anthology, which has a tagline that reads, "An Atlas of Love". The film also stars Raj Ayyappa, Samyuktha Vishwanathan, Nandu, Deepak Paramesh, Kajal Choudhary, Peter K, Sharath Ravi, Akshitha Bopaiah, Priyanka Chandrashekar, Bharath Bopanna, and Vijetha Vashitha, among others.

Backed by Raju Sheregar of the Riddhi Siddhi Films banner, Vowels will have cinematography by Keerthan Poojaary and Sandeep Aluri, editing by Harish Komme and music by Sarvanaa Subramaniam. One of the directors, Dhilip and Yugi Sethu, have penned the dialogues for the film. Vowels is gearing up to open in theatres on March 13.
