In a recent interview, Anirudh descibed his experience in making the promotional video of KHxRK. The film starring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, which is directed by Nelson, has music composed by Anirudh.

Speaking to Provoke TV, the composer said, "The promos which feature Nelson and me aren't scripted. All of them are (like) reality shows. If you add a camera to my studio that documents our daily interactions, it would be similar to the promos. All of us in the studio are always happy."

He also said, "The scenes which featured Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth were shot first. But later we had the idea of adding some scenes before the stars appeared. We ad-libbed those scenes."

KHxRK reunites Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth after 47 years. Their last film, which featured both of them in starring roles, was K Balachandar's Ninaithale Inikkum (1979). But the last time both of them appeared together on screen was on K Balachandar's Thillu Mullu (1981).
