Aishwarya Lekshmi, who is currently awaiting the release of Gatta Kusthi 2 with Vishnuu Vishal, has now heaped praise on Mamitha Baiju and her growth in the South Indian industry. In a recent interview, the Ponniyin Selvan actor mentioned how she was "very happy" to see Mamitha climbing up the ladder of fame.

"She is like a child to me, and she does so well," Aishwarya remarked, before adding, "I have seen the reels of Suriya sir's new film (Vishwanath & Sons). She is dancing so well. It was very interesting. Only a few people get good opportunities like these and you have to do it well when you are given it," she said, appreciating her talent and "grounded" nature. "She came, worked and left. She talks with everyone. There is no star attitude. That's what I love about her," she added.

Aishwarya Lekshmi and Mamitha Baiju are contemporaries who started acting in films in 2017. Besides Gatta Kusthi 2, Aishwarya Lekshmi has Sai Durgha Tej's SYG - Sambarala Yeti Gattu in Telugu and Aasha in Malayalam. Mamitha, on the other hand, has Suriya's Vishwanath & Sons, Irandu Vaanam with Vishnuu Vishal, Nivin Pauly's Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and the unreleased Vijay-led Jana Nayagan in the pipeline.

Gatta Kusthi 2 gears up for its theatrical release on July 3. Directed by Chella Ayyavu who has returned to helm the sequel, the film also stars Kaali Venkat, Karunaas and Munishkanth are reprising their roles along with Lizie Antony, Gajaraj and Sreeja Ravi. Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu are the newcomers to the sequel. Karunakaran, Mokksha and child actor Zara Zyanna are also part of the film. It continues the story of Keerthi (Aishwarya Lekshmi) and Veera (Vishnuu Vishal) as they navigate reversed gender roles amidst a very conservative society.
