Even as the film industry is still reeling from the shock of veteran filmmaker, actor and screenwriter K Bhagyaraj's demise, his final rites are taking place on Sunday. As ordained by CM Vijay, who paid his respects to the late director on Saturday, his mortal remains were carried for the final rites with state honours.
Videos also showed actor Sarath Kumar and actor-director Parthiban, who was an erstwhile assistant of Bhagyaraj, carrying the mortal remains of K Bhagyaraj. Some videos featured a distraught Shanthnu Bhagyaraj along with his sister Sharanya and mother Poornima.
Apart from CM Vijay, Mammootty, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Dhanush, and many more paid their final respects to the filmmaker on Saturday. Condolences have been pouring in from all quarters, with many actors, filmmakers and noted members in the industry making a beeline to his house to pay their last respects.

He served as an assistant director to the late filmmaker before making his directorial debut with Suvarilladha Chiththirangal (1979).
