Recently, All India Rajinikanth Fans Welfare Association put out a notice asking not to use the Superstar's name and image for political purpose. This measure is to keep the misuse of the Superstar's personal attributes in check in a political context, thus avoiding confusion among his admirers and respecting his stance of distancing himself from electoral politics.
Following the recent Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections, Rajinikanth revealed that he would not want to get into politics. The Superstar added that Vijay's victory in the election shocked him and that people should provide the CM with a fair opportunity to prove himself with no undue pressure.
Interestingly, Rajinikanth added that he would have won the election had he got into politics back in the early noughties. The Superstar's comments regarding his urealised journey in politics made headlines and became a topic of debate among political experts and fans.
Recently, Rajinikanth quipped that it would have made him envious if Kamal Haasan won the election and became the Chief Minister. The Superstar was responding to a media question about whether he felt envious of Vijay's victory in the recent election. In response, Kamal said that he has never been in competition with the Superstar or jealous of each other. "We are the best sportsmen you can find in Tamil Nadu," Kamal added.
Coming back to the fans association's latest request, it comes shortly after actor Raghava Lawrence expressed his wish to get into politics. Raghava Lawrence said that he supported Rajinikanth when the Superstar wanted to enter politics.
On the work front, Rajinikanth is awaiting the release of Jailer 2, directed by Nelson. He also has a project with Kamal Haasan, directed by Nelson, and his 173rd film in the pipeline.
