While Dhruv Vikram has always cited his father as an inspiration, during promotions of his 2025 sports drama, Bison Kaalamaadan, the actor dubbed the film as his first one. According to Dhruv, since his acting debut in Aditya Varma was a remake (of Arjun Reddy), and termed Kartik Subbaraj's Mahaan as his father's film. Interestingly, at a recent event the actor was asked his pick among his father's filmography to remake.

"I am not sure if I can pull off one of appa's role as well as him. But I really like Bheema, and I would probably do a different version of the same story," said Dhruv.

Written and directed by N Lingusamy, Bheema followed a gangster who gets caught in a clash between gangs and government authorities, after deciding to redeem himself to lead a better life. Apart from Vikram, the cast of the film also includes Trisha, Prakash Raj, Raghuvaran, among others. Harris Jayarj composed music for the film.

Earlier, Dhruv named Shankar's Anniyan as his favourite performance by his father. In the film, Vikram portrayed a man who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, after suffering trauma.
