Actor Jai's latest film Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai has now premiered on OTT after a brief stint in theatres. Helmed by Babu Vijay, the film stars Meenakshi Govindarajan as the female lead.

In the film, Jai who plays a Vijay fan and carries his mannerisms, and Meenakshi, a minister's daughter marry in an impulse. But their love is soon tested by financial struggles and powerful enemies, from corrupt politicians to jealous rivals. As they navigate these challenges together, they uncover hidden truths and discover that love can endure even in the face of the darkest threats.

Upon release on May 15, the film clashed with Suriya's Karuppu at the box office. Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai garnered mixed and negative reviews and underperformed at the box office.

An excerpt from our CE review of our film read, "Tamil cinema has always boasted young heroes who could play a boy-next-door and also pull off an emotionally intense performance; Jai has a prominent place in that list. Through films like Chennai 600028 (2007), Engaeyum Eppothum (2011), and Subramaniapuram (2008), Jai has left an indelible mark on the collective memory of the Tamil audience. Which is why it leaves us deeply disappointed to see him resort to blatant fanservice, not even of his own fans but of actor- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s huge fanbase."

The film also stars Garuda Ram, Yogi Babu, Sathyan, Sriman, and Aditya Kathir.

On the technical team, Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai has cinematography by Richard M Nathan, music by Girishh Gopalakrishnan and editing by Darling Richardson.

Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai is available to stream on Prime Video.
