This Thursday marks legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam's birthday. The late singer would have been 80 years old if he was alive today. Fans and prominent personalities from the Tamil film industry remembered SPB through social media earlier this Thursday. Meanwhile, KS Chithra also shared a heartfelt post about him.

Taking to X, Chithra shared a picture featuring her with SPB and wrote, "You are wonderfully made by God... delightfully gifted for His purpose... generously blessed with his love... Happy Birthday Balu sir."

Chithra is a massive admirer of SPB. In a post, wishing him on his birthday six years ago, she wrote, "Your soulful rendition brings unbelievable joy and comfort to all. It is always my pleasure & privilege singing with you."

SP Balasubrahmanyam and Chithra collaborated on many iconic songs, including 'Anjali Anjali Pushpanjali' from Duet (1994), 'Kadhal Kavithaigal' from Gopura Vasalile (1991), 'Muththamizhe Muththamizhe' from Raman Abdullah (1997), and 'Singalathu Chinnakuyile' from Punnagai Mannan (1986).

SPB also shared his admiration for Chithra on multiple occasions. On stage once, he teased his frequent collaborator, saying that she would find it hard to laugh while singing, unlike her public image. "We have sung some 100 songs together. However, she often told me, 'Please do not ask me to laugh, sir; ask me to do anything else, I would sing.'"
