Just hours earlier, Dhanush's speech at a blood donation drive organised by his fan club, in which he hinted towards his political entry, became a talking point on social media. Now, actor and General Secretary of the South Indian Artistes' Association (Nadigar Sangam), Vishal, has also dropped a similar hint about making a political entry.

Before Dhanush and Vishal, Raghava Lawrence was the first actor to suggest political aspirations. Netizens have noted that their political interest comes after actor Vijay contested the elections and was elected as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at a recent event, Vishal said, "As an actor in the film industry for these many years, I have the goodwill to do something in return for all of you. Going forward, my path will not be an ordinary one. I will only tread on a straightforward path, no shortcuts. I will take that route and ensure support for you in all aspects." While the actor didn't confirm his entry, the tone of his speech has led to speculations about the same.

On the work front, Vishal is currently working on his directorial debut, Magudam. The film, which was initially set to be helmed by Ravi Arasu, was taken over by Vishal after the former's exit. Also starring Anjali, Dushara Vijayan, John Vijay, Jayaprakash, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, VJ Jhansi, Padam Kumar, and Sabhumon, among others, the film is gearing up to open in theatres on August 14. Upon its release, the film will clash at the box office with Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons and Kavin's Hi.

In the pipeline, Vishal also has Sundar C's Purushan, co-starring Yogi Babu and Tamannaah. The upcoming film is the fourth collaboration between the actor and the director, after Aambala, Madha Gaja Raja and Action.
