Rumours of actor Dhanush's political entry have been going around for the last few weeks now, and the talks gained strength especially after Dhanush's fan club unveiled a flag for the actor. While the Raayan star had not revealed anything, his fiery speech at a recent event has sparked massive speculations about him entering the political fray soon.
At a recent blood donation drive organised by his fans, Dhanush said, "So many people have gathered in one place... This kind of unity has a power. You need to give that unity a positive way and a purpose, not just through audio launches and meet-ups. Join hands and do more welfare work. Do whatever you can for the people in your area and the families living around your house. I want to feel even more proud of all of you. I hope you all do it."
While he did not confirm anything in his speech, fans and social media users are speculating that he will soon take the plunge through his welfare schemes and fan clubs, similar to actor-turned-Chief Minister Vijay's trajectory.
Earlier, when Dhanush's father and noted director-actor Kasthuri Raja was posed the question on his political entry, he said, "I really don't know. You should ask him this question."
Meanwhile, Dhanush has a number of films in his pipeline. His next, Om (D55), with director Rajkumar Periasamy will also star Mammooty, Sreeleela and Sai Pallavi. His next, D56 will be directed by Lubber Pandhu director Thamizharasan Pachamuthu. He is also set to reunite with Mari Selvaraj after Karnan for a film which will feature music by AR Rahman. It was also recently announced that Dhanush and Vetri Maaran will join hands once again for Thamizh Murugan. Noted author Arivumathi will serve as the film's writer.
Some reports suggested him joining hands with PS Mithran for a film backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and another with Siva, which are yet to be confirmed. Also in his pipeline are his Ilaiyaraaja and APJ Abdul Kalam biopics—the production development details of which are scanty.
