On Friday, on the occasion of Vijay Antony's birthday, the makers of his upcoming film, Appa Kutty, unveiled the film's second look poster. The film, an emotional action drama, is helmed by Mu Maran.
The poster features Vijay Antony carrying a school bag and a lunch bag and walking alongside his young daughter. Previously, a first look poster was shared by the makers which featured a wounded Vijay Antony carrying his daughter on his shoulder.
Besides playing the lead role, Vijay Antony also serves as the composer and editor of the film. He is also backing it under Vijay Antony Film Corporation. Mu Maran has previously helmed Blackmail, Iravukku Aayiram Kangal and Kannai Nambathey.
Appa Kutty stars Preethi Asrani as the female lead. Bagavathi Perumal, Muthu Kumar, Jenson Dhivakar, Aruvi Madhan, Chithra Lakshmanan, Muruganantham, Praveena, Haripriya Isai and Lizzie Antony play key supporting roles in the film.
According to the makers, the film centres around the emotional bond between a father and daughter. It is said to have a blend of action, family emotions, deep sentiment, and compelling visuals, designed to appeal equally to family audiences and action lovers.
Other members of the technical team include Rajeev Rajendran as the DOP and A Raja as the production designer. Dialogues for the film have been written by Mu Maran as well as Puthiya Parithi. With Appa Kutty's shoot already wrapped, post-production is in full swing. While the makers were previously aiming for an August release, a release date is yet to be announced.
Vijay Antony was last seen in Sasi's Nooru Saami, starring alongside Swasika and Ajay Dhishan. Apart from Appa Kutty, the actor is also working on Lawyer, helmed by Joshua Sethuraman.
