Director Seenu Ramasamy has expressed his views about the Cockroach Janta Party's protest against NEET paper leaks. Taking to his X handle, the filmmaker shared, "Ever since the NEET examination system was introduced, it has faced strong opposition from the education community. Amid allegations of corruption and malpractice, students' futures have been thrown into uncertainty, and the issue has continued to be linked to student deaths across India."

Referring to the NEET protest, the director added, "Today, students are protesting in Delhi. Today, students are protesting in Delhi. In my film Kanne Kalaimaane, which I directed, I had already portrayed the cruel reality of the NEET examination and the hardships that students would be forced to face because of it. The Central Government should not view this as a political issue. Instead, keeping the lives and well-being of students in mind, it should immediately withdraw NEET."

Seenu Ramasamy ended his post about NEET protest by asking the government to ban the contentious examination.

Kanne Kalaimane stars Udhayanidhi Stalin and Tamannaah in the lead roles. The film talks about the aforementioned medical entrance examination as part of its wider social commentary on education and rural issues.

The filmmaker's statement about NEET and the CJP protest comes a day after his Kanne Kalaimane star Udhayanidhi Stalin spoke about it on social media. Taking to X, the former actor and the current opposition leader shared, "I strongly condemn the high-handedness of the police against CJP youth who were peacefully participating in a rally over the NEET discrepancies. The visuals from Delhi are shocking. Instead of addressing their concerns, the government is responding with its police force. This is unacceptable in a democracy."

Udhayanidhi Stalin further added, "For more than a decade now, DMK has been advocating abolition of NEET. Today, Tamil Nadu's voice against NEET is resonating across the nation, including from the national capital. The demand of the Nation's Youth is clear. Listen to them."
