When CE reached out to Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy and editor R Kalaivanan after their National Award wins on Saturday, both of them said that they did not know whether there would be a celebration of the achievements on the sets of their film Om. Earlier this Saturday, Rajkumar, Mammootty, and Om producer, Dhanush's Wunderbar Films, shared stills from their celebration of the accolades.
Sharing the stills, Mammootty wrote, "A Small celebration of our National Award wins with Dhanush, and R Kalaivanan on the sets of Om. Grateful for all the love and wishes."
The upcoming film stars Dhanush and Mammootty in the lead roles. Dhanush's Raayan won Best Tamil Film, and the actor also received a Special Mention - Best Actor award for his performance in Captain Miller. On the other hand, Mammootty won Best Actor for his performance in Bramayugam, sharing the recognition with Kartik Aaryan for Chandu Champion.
Recently, the team celebrated Mammootty's Padma Bhushan win by cutting a cake on the set of Om. This time, however, Om has four National Award winners, making the achievements extra special for the team behind the film.
On Saturday night, Amaran star Sivakarthikeyan appreciated Rajkumar and Kalaivanan on their National Awards, in addition to background music composer GV Prakash. Taking to X, Sivakarthikeyan wrote, "A proud day for our entire Amaran family My heartfelt congratulations to my dear director Rajkumar Periasamy on winning Best Director, GV Prakash on being honoured for Best Music Direction (Background Score) and R Kalaivanan on receiving the honour for Best Editing at the 72nd National Film Awards."
On the other hand, AR Rahman, who composed the music for Raayan, congratulated GV Prakash on his National Award win. "Congratulations, GV Prakash on your 3rd National Award. A proud moment for our family as we celebrate our 10th National Award together. Your passion, sincerity, and dedication to music continue to inspire. Wishing you many more milestones ahead."
