AR Murugadoss has unveiled the first trailer of the re-release of Lingusamy's Run and it brings back nostalgic memories from the 2000s. Featuring Madhavan and Meera Jasmine in lead roles, the trailer stitches together several iconic moments including the pair's awkward first meetings where she lies about her identity multiple times before fully trusting him, the evergreen 'Kadhal Pisase' song, Madhavan's tense encounters with Atul Kulkarni's henchmen and late actor Vivekh's comedy stretches.

Run follows Shiva (Madhavan) who tries to woo Priya (Meera Jasmine), who warns Shiva to not pursue her. Shiva realises that Priya's brother is a gangster, which puts him in danger. The rest of the film follows the various obstacles placed before Shiva and Priya in their quest to be together.

The cast of Run also includes Raghuvaran, Anu Hasan, Janaki Sabesh, SN Lakshmi, among others.

Released on September 5, 2002, Run opened to widespread critical acclaim and emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters and highest-grossing Tamil films of the year. The film's immense success led to a partially reshot Telugu version, with Sunil taking over the role originally played by Vivekh.

It was later remade in Hindi by Jeeva under the same title, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Bhumika Chawla in the lead roles originally portrayed by Madhavan and Meera Jasmine.

Run is set for a re-release on July 10.
