Vishnuu Vishal's latest film Gatta Kusthi 2, the sequel to the hit 2022 film directed by Chella Ayyavu, is steadily bringing revenue as well as footfall to theatres across Tamil Nadu, thanks to its family-oriented subject and engaging screenplay. Reportedly, the film has even crossed the break-even point in the state, turning out to be a profitable venture for the actor.
As he is basking in all the positive response for the comedy entertainer, his dear friend and fellow actor-producer Aamir Khan has now congratulated Vishnuu Vishal. In a video call, Aamir said, "Congratulations Vishnu. Huge blockbuster. So happy." Vishnuu shared the happy news on his X handle, saying, "So excited to get a call from the one and only Aamir Khan sir who is super happy on seeing the blockbuster response to Gatta Kusthi 2. Thank you Aamir sir for always being a pillar of support and having my back."
For the unversed, Vishnuu and Aamir's friendship began years ago as an “accidental meetup," a chance encounter that his wife Jwala Gutta had with Aamir at a function. “He slowly went on to become a close friend of our family within a year,” Vishnu revealed in an earlier interview with CE. Later, during the floods in the city in 2023, Vishnuu helped Aamir who was caring for his mother. Their bond strengthened slowly, and last year, the actor also flew down to Hyderabad and named the couple's daughter as Mira.
Meanwhile, Gatta Kusthi 2, which is currently running in theatres, sees the return Aishwarya Lekshmi as Keerthi and Vishnuu as Veera. Kaali Venkat, Karunaas and Munishkanth have reprised their roles along with Lizie Antony, Gajaraj and Sreeja Ravi. Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu are the newcomers to the sequel. Karunakaran, Mokksha and child actor Zara Zyanna are also part of the film.
In the sequel, Veera keeps his promise to support Keerthi's wrestling career, becoming a house husband while she pursues her dreams. Their differing parenting styles and concerns over their daughter Mathi Malar's future strain their marriage, forcing Keerthi to sacrifice her career. As their relationship falls apart and divorce looms, the family must confront what truly matters.
