Actor-turned-chief minister Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, is now gearing up for a release in July, having cleared censorship formalities. While the month of July is already packed with a bevy of film releases, it looks like the H Vinoth directorial is also aiming to open in theatres at the earliest.

If the film chooses to hit theatres in July, the release of other smaller films may be postponed, given the commercial pull of Vijay's swansong. As of now, several reports suggest that the film may be scheduled for a July 24 release.

Meanwhile, Mr Bhaarath, the upcoming Tamil film starring YouTuber Bhaarath, is also eyeing the same release date as Jana Nayagan. Speaking to IANS, the film's producer Sudhan Sundaram confirmed that they are considering the release date but may reconsider if Jana Nayagan is fixed to open at the box office on the same day.

Directed by Niranjan, Mr Bhaarath marks the feature film debut of popular YouTube creators Bhaarath and Niranjan. Also starring Samyuktha Vishwanathan, the film is presented by filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj's G Squad banner. The Route's Jagadish Palanisamy is also co-producing the film.

The film wrapped principal photography in July last year. The film also stars Bala Saravanan, Nidhi Pradeep, R Sundarrajan, Linga and Adithya Kathir in pivotal roles. On the technical front, Mr Bhaarath has cinematography by Om Narayan, editing by Dhivakar Dennis and music composed by Pranav Muniraj.

Meanwhile, Jana Nayagan also stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, among others. The film was scheduled to open in theatres on January 9 but was delayed indefinitely due to censorship issues. The film further faced a setback when it was leaked online on piracy sites in April.
