Recently, we reported about Simran playing an important role in Dharman, co-starring Rajinikanth and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. The film brings the actor back together with Rajinikanth for the first time after their collaboration on 2019's Petta.
Earlier this Saturday, the actor shared some photographs of her, seemingly teasing her character's look in the film, and shared her excitement for the reunion with the Superstar. "Nearly three decades of memories, learning, and gratitude. Happy to begin another beautiful chapter with Superstar Rajinikanth in Dharman. Looking forward to this journey," Simran wrote.
Simran made her acting debut with 1995's Sanam Harjai, a Hindi film directed by Saawan Kumar Tak. In Tamil cinema, she made her entry with films such as Once More, VIP, and Nerrukku Ner. She had her breakout year in 1999 with roles in Thullatha Manamum Thullum, opposite Vijay, and Vaalee with Ajith Kumar.
Despite starting her career all those years ago, the actor had to wait for a long time to do her first film with Rajinikanth: Petta, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. At a recent event for Dharman, Simran expressed her elation about being part of the film. "When I met Rajini sir after Petta, I told him that I wanted to do more films with him. I have waited for this opportunity for a very long time, and I am grateful that it has finally happened," the actor said at the time.
Marking the 173rd film in Rajinikanth's career, Dharman also stars Raashii Khanna. As reported earlier, Kamal Haasan is producing the film under his Raaj Kamal Films International banner. Recently, the producer shared a poster featuring Rajinikanth as a medical professional and carrying the tagline, 'The Deadly Doctor'. The makers are yet to reveal plot specifics.
