Earlier this Friday, Red Giant Movies announced that they have come onboard as the distributor for Idhayam Murali, starring Atharvaa, Kayadu Lohar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Fahadh Faasil. Written, directed, and produced by Aakash Baskaran of Dawn Pictures, the film remains on course for its July 10 release, as announced earlier. Red Giant Movies is set to release it across theatres in Tamil Nadu. Inban Udhayanidhi of Red Giant Movies is the presenter for the film.

Recently, Sudha Kongara moved the Madras High Court against Aakash claiming unpaid remuneration by him and Dawn Pictures for her work in their previous film, Parasakthi. In the process, Sudha Kongara also filed a plea seeking an interim stay on the release of the film. It remains to be seen how the court case pans out between the Parasakthi director and the producer.

Coming back to Idhayam Murali, the film also stars social media influencer cum actor Niharika NM. A story of romance spanning multiple generations that explores the thematic element of one-side love, the film is named after 1991's Idhayam, starring Atharvaa's father Murali. In a video announcing the title, Atharvaa's character can be heard saying, "The best lover in the world is not Romeo, Majnu, Ambikapathy, or even Titanic Jack. It's the one and only Idhayam Murali!"

The film also stars Dravid Selvam and Sudhakar Jayaraman of Parithabangal fame, Natty, composer Thaman S himself, Anju Kurian, Rakshan, Yashashree Rao, singer Jonita Gandhi, and Angelin B. Natty portrays Idhaya's (Atharvaa) uncle, whereas Kayadu Lohar plays the male protagonist's love interest.

On the technical front, it has cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, composer Thaman S, editor Pradeep E Ragav, costume designers Pallavi Singh and Meenakshi N, and production designer Karthik Rajkumar.

Earlier this year, the makers released a song, named 'Vaama Vaama,' which has vocals by actor Dhanush.
