Actor Madhavan recently met Ajith Kumar at Dubai Autodrome ahead of a major race the latter was set to take part in this week. The Dhurandhar actor met Ajith along with his wife where the duo were seen talking about their life and careers. The Good Bad Ugly star had also shown them their car and was describing the race and its nuances.
For the last few weeks, several top stars have been visiting Ajith Kumar to wish him for the races he will be undertaking. Previously, Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara, Sibi Sathyaraj and Anirudh, among others had met him in Dubai.
Ajith Kumar has underscored his passion for racing at many occasions and interviews. Over the last two years, the actor has been participating in many racing circuits across the world. His efforts on the race track are set to be made into a docu-film, which sources say will be released in theatres on May 1 this year on the occasion of his birthday. Directed by Vijay, the documentary will have crucial and engaging moments including strategy meetings, discussions with teams, practise sessions and Ajith's preparation. He will also be revealing some of his never-before-seen emotional side where he opens up on some deeply personal moments in his life. On the film front, he will once again be joining hands with Adhik Ravichandran after Good Bad Ugly for the untitled AK64 which is yet to go on floors.
Ajith's hit 2011 film Mankatha, directed by Venkat Prabhu had a re-release on January 23 which was celebrated by fans upon its premiere. The film has been running with packed halls across the state, with the actioner already collecting over Rs 10 crore at the box office.
Madhavan, on the other hand, was recently announced as one of the actors who will be conferred with the Padma Shri award. Expressing his gratitude to the Government of India for the recognition, Madhavan wrote, “I accept the Padma Shri with profound gratitude and humility. This honor, bestowed upon me, is beyond my wildest dreams, and I receive it on behalf of my entire family, whose constant support and faith have been my greatest strength.”
Recently, Madhavan earned much critical appreciation for his performance in director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead. The film became Hindi cinema's biggest hit, earning over Rs 1000 crore at the box office in India and globally.
