Santhosh Narayanan recently spoke about his upcoming film, the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD (2024), in an interview. The 2024 dystopian sci-fi drama, was directed by Nag Ashwin and starred Prabhas in the lead.

In an interview with Mirchi Tamil, Santhosh was asked about the best amongst his works, when he said, "The upcoming Kalki 2 will be my best work. I want it to be my best work. I am putting in the efforts for it."

He added, "The first film was a huge learning to everyone. We worked on the film for 2-3 years, and we figured out the world, so we began working for the sequel already."

When asked about an update on the filming of the sequel, the composer said, "Everybody is ready for the shoot. There is a jugalbandi of actors in the film. Since everybody in the cast are mega stars, coordinating them is tough."

Kalki 2898 AD is Santhosh's 50th film as a composer. His latest release, was his reunion with Soodhu Kavvum's maker, Nalan Kumarasamy, in Vaa Vaathiyaar. Starring Karthi in the lead, the film was released on January 14.
