
Amitabh Bachchan said that it was his “privilege” to be part of Kalki 2898 AD and said that he would love to be part of the film again, if he is ever called to be part of it. The mythological sci-fi thriller completed one year on June 27.
Taking to X, Bachchan re-shared a post from the producers Vyjayanthi Movies celebrating one year anniversary of the film and wrote, “My honoured privilege to be asked to be a part of it, one that I admired and respected the blessings of Vijayanti films and the elders that ran and connected with it, ever to be a part of it any day again, IF THEY WERE TO EVER TO ASK.”
Written and directed by Nag Ashwin, the pan-Indian blockbuster also starred Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. Bachchan plays the role of the immortal Ashwaththama, from the mythological epic of Mahabharata in the film. It was released in theatres on June 27 last year and had a worldwide gross of more than Rs 1000 crores making it one of the highest grossing Indian films.
Meanwhile, work on the sequel of the film has begun. Ashwin confirmed that scripting of the film has completed and he reportedly plans to release it by the end of 2026.
