As reported earlier, Prabhu Deva and AR Rahman are collaborating in a film after 25 years, with the upcoming Moonwalk. The film, which marks the directorial debut of Manoj NS, also marks the acting debut of AR Rahman. On Sunday, at the audio launch of the film, Prabhu Deva shared that his favourite on-set memory from Moonwalk was when he performed alongside the veteran musician.

Speaking at the red carpet ahead of the audio launch, Prabhu Deva said, "My favourite memory on set is undoubtedly the days I spent with Rahman sir onscreen. When Manoj sir first teased about Rahman sir's acting debut in Moonwalk, I thought he was pranking me. Rahman sir and I constantly engage in friendly banter, so I wondered how the coordination would work out while acting. But he is a natural. Whatever he performed, he did it adorably and stole our hearts."

Rahman is set to play himself in the role of an "angry young film director". It is unclear whether he will be seen in a full-fledged role or cameo. Notably, he has made cameo appearances in Kadhal Virus, Bigil, Aaraattu, Maamannan, and Ayalaan.

Moonwalk is directed and produced by Manoj, who is the founder and CEO of Behindwoods. The director is also producing the film with Divya Manoj and Praveen Elak.

The cast of Moonwalk also includes Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, Satz, Arjun Ashokan, Nishma Chengappa, Singampuli, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TSR Srinivasan, Ramar, Dr Santhosh Jacob, Redin Kingsley, Sushmitha Nayak, Rajendran, Deepa Shankar, and Ramkumar Natarajan.

Moonwalk has cinematography by Anoop V Shylaja and editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta, as well as choreography by Sekhar VJ, Piyush Chazia, and Sandy. The film is set for a theatrical release in summer 2026.
