It is well known that Prabhu Deva is set to reunite with AR Rahman after 25 years for the upcoming musical entertainer Moon Walk. Sharing details on the film and collaborating with actor-choreographer, AR Rahman expressed his excitement and called him a "world icon". "People all over the world follow him. He is India's pride and working with him again is a beautiful honour," said the Academy Award-winning composer during the audio launch of the film. As reported earlier, Moon Walk is directed and produced by Manoj, who is the founder and CEO of Behindwoods.

Besides composing and singing all the songs in the film, AR Rahman has also acted for a short duration in the project. "This is just a small scene. I don't have a heroine," he laughed, sharing details on his roles. His earlier-released character poster revealed that he will be playing himself as an "angry young film director."

"For two years, Manoj has been narrating the scene to me. We completed shooting my portions within ten minutes. When I was first told about the project, Manoj recalled my glorious days with Prabhu Deva and how we collaborated on 'Chiku Buku Raile', 'Muqabla', 'Ooh La La La' and other songs. He said he wanted to bring back the magic of the collaboration. Nobody ever thought about that. He came out of the way and believed in his work and idea. I respected that belief he had and did this film," he explained, noting that the director's persistence made him sing all the songs in Moon Walk.

Heaping praise on Manoj NS, Rahman said, "Manoj is an obsessive filmmaker. Some people say what they want to do, but their actions reflect otherwise. This man constantly thinks of ways to improve his work. He has shot some songs in a better way. I wish him and the whole team the best."

Elaborating on how he finds his musical inspirations, Rahman said it is good to feel drained as it makes people change their perspectives. "When a glass is half full, some see it as half empty. I see it as half full. With that perspective, I try to get hope and energy to continue my work."

While Prabhu Deva leads the ensemble, the cast also includes Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, Satz, Arjun Ashokan, Nishma Chengappa, Singampuli, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TSR Srinivasan, Ramar, Dr Santhosh Jacob, Redin Kingsley, Sushmitha Nayak, Rajendran, Deepa Shankar, and Ramkumar Natarajan.

Moon Walk is set for a theatrical release in May 2026.
