We had earlier reported in 2025 that filmmaker Vincent Selva, who is known for helming films such as Priyamudan (1998), Iraniyan (1999), Youth (2002), Jithan (2005), and Perumal (2009), will serve as the writer in Jithan 2 director Rahul Paramahamsa's Subrammani.

The latest update from the makers is that Vincent Selva is stepping into the shoes of the director, replacing Rahul Paramahamsa. Some working stills of the film on Thursday, on the occasion of the New Year.

The stills had Vincent Selva giving instructions to filmmaker Mysskin, who plays a pivotal role in the film. Interestingly, Mysskin has worked as an assistant director to Vincent Selva in the Vijay starrer Youth.

The action thriller that has a story revolves around a Belgian Malinois dog and stars Richard Rishi in the lead role. The makers share that this breed of dog is only for military operations, and this is the first time such a dog has been a part of a film. They also added that it took Richard Rishi weeks to develop a bond with the dog. The film, which stars Natty in a crucial role, features Divya as the female lead with Jasper and Swaminathan cast in supporting roles.

Bankrolled by S Productions, Subrammani has cinematography by Akhilesh and Sunder Ram Krishnan, music by Sanuka, editing by Sujir Babu, and stunts by Rambo Vimal. The film is yet to get a release date.
