There have been some claims about parts of the video being shot with AI

Recently, we reported about the release of the promo video for the film starring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. After the KH x RK promo dropped on YouTube, netizens have generally shared their excitement for the film that brings the two big stars together onscreen after a long time. However, there have also been some claims about parts of the video being shot with AI. On Wednesday night, the film's producer, Red Giant Movies put an end to such speculations by dropping on social media a behind-the-scenes video showing the making of the KH x RK glimpse.

"Lights. Camera. Action. A sneak peek into the making of KH x RK promo," the production banner wrote as the caption for the social media post. In the BTS clip, director Nelson can be seen interacting with Rajinikanth and Kamal.

Also visible in the clip are the models shown in the promo. Some netizens claimed that the presence of the models in the clip suggest the use of AI in the making of the promo. They have even asked the generative AI tool Grok to confirm the same, only for the tool to reply in the affirmative. However, the latest making video has put an end to the speculation. The BTS video ends with Kamal and Rajinikanth embracing each other following the shooting of the promo.

The film, which is yet to have a title, brings the two actors together for the first time after 1981's Thillu Mullu, where Kamal played a cameo role. Their last full-fledged appearances together came in Ninaithale Inikkum and the Malayalam version of Allauddinum Albhutha Vilakkum. Interestingly, Allauddinum Albhutha Vilakkum has a version each in Malayalam and Tamil.

Meanwhile, some netizens have also objected to the use of the models in the promo as they argued that it amounts to female objectification. On the technical front, the film has music by Anirudh and cinematography by Rajiv Menon, among others.
