Earlier, we reported about Radikaa Sarathkumar's upcoming film Thaai Kizhavi being slated for a February 27 release in theatres. Writer-director director Sivakumar Murugesan's film has now found a distributor in Sri Lanka as well.

Earlier today, distributor Zineflix announced through social media that it would bring the film to theatres in the island nation on February 27 itself. Sharing a poster for the same, the distributor wrote in the caption, "A Thaai always finds her way. Thaai Kizhavi arrives in Sri Lanka, releasing via Zineflix." Meanwhile, 180 Entertainment is the French distributor for the film.

Thaai Kizhavi is produced by Sivakarthikeyan through his namesake banner alongside Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios. The film has already been generating much buzz thanks mainly to Radikaa's transformation for her elderly woman character in it. In the promotional posters and videos for the film, the actor is virtually unrecognisable.

Radikaa recently said that it would take her around five hours for her to go through the prosthetic makeup process each time she has to shoot a scene for the film.

The film was earlier set to have a release on February 20, Friday. However, the makers of the film recently postponed it to February 27, probably considering the uncertainty over the possibility of Vijay's Jana Nayagan being scheduled to release on February 20. Eventually, another Vijay film, 2004's Ghilli, has been slated for a rerelease on the said date, alongside Ajith Kumar's Thunivu.

Interestingly, February 27 will also see the release of Aazhi, starring Radikaa's actor husband Sarathkumar in the lead role. The other films that are expected to hit theatres on that Friday include Scream 7, the Best Picture Oscar-nominated film Hamnet, and the Kevin James starrer Solo Milo, among others. Hamnet was earlier expected to have a February 20 release in India, but it has now been pushed to the subsequent Friday.
