Mamitha Baiju, who worked with Vijay in his swansong, Jana Nayagan, has now opened up about her experience working with the actor. Speaking at the JFW Awards event, Mamitha said that she learnt a lot from the senior actor during her time on the H Vinoth set.

"Vijay sir is very punctual to the sets. Although quite reserved in nature, he is very sweet. Even if we mention small insignificant things to him, he remembers them. Even if I met him after two months, he would suddenly ask me about it. I am someone who even forgets someone else's name," she revealed.

Further, she also revealed Vijay's favourite dish. "I also learnt about his favourite dishes. He always has salmon for lunch. I would always ask him after the lunch break, "Sir, did you have salmon?" and he would respond with a smile every single time."

While Jana Nayagan was initially slated for release on January 9, issues related to the lack of issuance of a censor certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) have caused the indefinite postponement of the film's release.

Jana Nayagan features a large ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Pooja Hegde and Narain, among others. There has been sustained speculation that the film is a remake of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari (2023), a theory further fuelled by its trailer, though the makers have not officially confirmed this.

The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E Ragav. The film is co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK.

Meanwhile, Mamitha, who was last seen in Dude, also has Bethlehem Kudumba Unit in Malayalam and Dhanush's Kara, Suriya 46 and Irandu Vaanam with Vishnu Vishal in Tamil, in various stages of production.
