After a successful box office run, Jiiva's latest film Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil was released recently on OTT platform Netflix for viewers across the world to watch the political satire. However, many were left disappointed after a crucial dialogue in the climax portion of the film was muted in its streaming version.

Taking to social media, several users questioned the platform as to why the dialogue was removed and requested them to add it back. Some even wondered it could be a political move as the dialogue pointed to a noted Tamil Nadu minister, sparking a debate on social media. However, reasons for the removal remain unclear as the makers have not clarified the issue.

A political satire, TTT, directed by Nithish Sahadev, follows the president of a village's Panchayat board (Jiiva), who tries to calm down a hornet's nest that is rattled after two neighbours (Thambi Ramaiah and Ilavarasu) are adamant in disrupting each other's peace, by wanting to conduct a wedding and a funeral on the same time. Released during the Pongal festival, it earned close to Rs 40 crore and became a box office hit.

Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil marks Nithish's first film after 2023's Falimy, starring Basil Joseph, Jagadish, Sandeep Pradeep, and Manju Pillai. It is also the director's first Tamil film.

It also stars Prathana Nathan, Subramani, Jenson Dhivakar, Jaiwanth, Savithri, Sasti Pranesh, Subash Kannan, Rajesh Pandian, Manimegalai, Sarjin Kumar, Mohan, Amith Mohan, Sharath, Anuraj OB, Surjith Gopinath and Shajeer P Basheer, among others.

The film's Hindi remake rights has reportedly been acquired by noted Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor.
