As Suriya and Trisha's hit romantic drama Mounam Pesiyadhe gears up for a re-release after 24 years on February 13, the cast and crew members have been sharing memories from the iconic film, urging fans and audiences to catch the film once again in theatres to re-live the experience.
On Thursday, Trisha shared a video message, sharing her love for the film. "I don't need to emphasise how special this film is for me as it was my first release. It is from here that everything started for me," she remarked, giving her wishes to producer Ganesh and director Ameer. "I am so glad to have worked with you Ameer sir. Although it was my first project, no one treated me like a newcomer. I felt at home always," she said.
Thanking her co-star Suriya, Trisha said that is happy that she had her first release with the actor. "It's doubly special as my next release as of today is also with him. I really feel like life has come full circle for me," she added, further expressing her wishes for the technical crew and Yuvan Shankar Raja for creating a timeless album.
The film centred on the story of a stoic man and is tryst with love. The film also featured actor Vidharth in one of his early film appearances. Mounam Pesiyadhe was a critically and commercially successful venture at the box office, with Yuvan's music winning massive praise. Songs from the film continue to enjoy enduring popularity among audiences even today.
Suriya and Trisha later went on to star together in films like Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004), and Aaru (2005). After 21 years, they will once again be seen together in RJ Balaji's much-anticipated film Karuppu which is awaiting a release date.
