Actor M Sasikumar will next be seen in My Lord, written and directed by Raju Murugan. With the film set to release this Friday, its lead actor and director talked to CE about its themes, among other topics.

At a time when the Censor Board faces much flak for its decision to delay Vijay's final film Jana Nayagan, Sasikumar said that the organisation appreciated Raju Murugan's film. Speaking to CE, the filmmaker said that people will have a greater sense of compassion for others after watching the film. Echoing his director's sentiment, Sasikumar said that the film will make the audience realise that it is important to love and respect all living beings.

The actor also said that the Censor Board has appreciated My Lord and given it a 13+ rating with no major cuts as children should watch it. He underscored the film's idea about the importance of respecting one another as something that will resonate with children as well.

The actor added that he would be delighted if people put the film's message into practice and has reposed his faith in the audience's ability to understand the idea and implement it in their day to day lives.

When it comes to the Censor Board, recently actor Jiiva revealed that his film with Raju, titled Gypsy, had around 50 cuts from the organisation. Responding to the censorship row over his Nanban co-star Vijay's final film, Jiiva said that Gypsy even had screenings in black-and-white after all the cuts. Also known for the National Award-winning film Joker, starring Guru Somasundaram, Raju Murugan acknowledged this censorship aspect during his conversation with CE about his upcoming film.

Speaking of Guru Somasundaram, the upcoming film brings the actor back together with his Joker filmmaker Raju. It also stars Chaithra Achar of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello fame, Asha Sharath, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar, and Vasumithra.
