Actor-director Sasikumar's upcoming film, My Lord, is set to release theatrically on February 13. Ahead of the film's release, a press meet was conducted in Chennai, which saw several directors including Mari Selvaraj grace the occasion. The director revealed that My Lord reminded him of an English language film, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.

"I was able to watch My Lord, which impacted me, and I cannot place the exact connection bet My Lord and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. I was engaged in a spirited discussion throughout the night with my team," said the director, who mentioned that both films showcased different types of resistance.

Mari also described how My Lord was a light against a formless and abstract oppression. "What kept me up all night, was my all consuming thought as to how people I knew would resist against this formless oppression, shown in the film," said the director.

My Lord, directed by Raju Murugan, stars Sasikumar and Chaithra J Achar in the lead. The cast also includes Asha Sharath, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar, and Vasumithra.
