Sasikumar's upcoming film My Lord is all set to release in theatres on February 13. With the satirical drama, director Raju Murugan returns to screens three years after Karthi's Japan (2023), which released to underwhelming reviews from audiences. In a recent press interaction, the actor-director said that he wants directors like Raju Murugan to not lose and wants to encourage him.

"I was told by Era Saravanan that Raju Murugan would narrate a story to me. I told the director not to change anything in the story for me. I wanted to be a part of the film as it was. I also encouraged him to complete the story in the same way he envisioned it," he explained, adding, "I remember the producer telling me that he worked with Raju Murugan once and the film failed. He said, 'He is a good person, he shouldn't fail. I should work with him again'. This is a common thought everyone has, that directors like Raju Murugan should never lose. I am doing what I can for filmmakers like him," he added.

Sasikumar also clarified that the title My Lord does not point at a courtroom drama. He firmly dismissed speculations on the film's genre and said, "The film only has ten minutes of court-related scenes in it. It instead explains what happens when a poor person is given the power to impose rules. It denotes the protagonist Muthusirpi in the film."

During the meet, the director-actor thanked filmmaker Bala for gracing the event. "I thought you wouldn't attend the event and told Raju Murugan to not trouble you, but I am glad you made it. Many praised me here, but all of them should be for you. You should be happy. I acted in Sethu (1999), became an assistant director and now I am here," he noted.

Sasikumar further heaped praise on Guru Somasundaram's character. "Somu has played Na. Ka aka Na Kathirvelan in the film and has pulled off the role brilliantly. You have portrayed how reporters should defend the truth in the best way. I am glad to have worked with you," he said, thanking producer Ambeth Kumar for giving an opportunity to act in the film.

The film also stars Chaithra J Achar as the female lead, marking her second Tamil film after 3BHK, which released last year. The cast of the film also includes Asha Sharath, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar, and Vasumithra.

Raju Murugan is known for directing films like Cuckoo (2014) and Joker (2020). He has also served as the lyricist for the film along with Yugabharathi, Athipatti K Mariyappan, Dinesh Rajendran (Rap).
