After winning the award for the Best Feature Film at the Mannheim Arts and Film Festival in Germany, Director Sajeev Pazhoor's eagerly-awaited socio-political family thriller Enna Vilai, featuring actors Nimisha Sajayan and Karunaas in the lead, has now been officially selected for the Kaia International Film Festival in Istanbul, Turkey.

Taking to her Instagram page to share the happy news, Nimisha wrote, "Our film Enna Vilai has been officially selected for the Kaia International Film Festival 2026 in Istanbul, Turkey. In Theatres | September 2026. Written and Directed by Sajeev."

Enna Vilai marks a significant reunion for Nimisha and Sajeev, who first collaborated on the acclaimed Malayalam film Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. While Sajeev wrote the National Award-winning film that introduced Nimisha as a lead actor, Enna Vilai sees him taking on the dual responsibilities of writer and director.

Set against the backdrop of Rameswaram, Enna Vilai is built around the age-old practice of devotees offering coins into the sea. The story follows an individual who attempts to recover the coins from the seabed, triggering a chain of events that begins as a fight for dignity and survival before developing into a legal battle with far-reaching national implications.
