Actor Suriya expressed his admiration for R Madhavan and Anirudh's work in their latest films, GDN and DC, respectively. Regarding the GD Naidu biopic, the actor wrote, "Dear brother, @ActorMadhavan You always aim for the highest standards in all that you do - #GDN is yet another feather in your stand-out roles. Best wishes to the team as well."

It is worth noting that Suriya starred with Madhavan in 2004's Aayutha Ezhuthu.

On the other hand, regarding DC, Suriya wrote, "Hearty congratulations to Loki @Dir_Lokesh and Arun Matheswaran.. hearing everyone talking about #DC and enjoying the film! @Anirudhofficial … great album! Happy for the team. Congratulations."

Notably, Suriya made a cameo appearance in director Lokesh's film, Vikram, co-starring Kamal Haasan and Fahadh Faasil, among others. DC marks Lokesh's debut as a lead actor, and it has opened in theatres to mostly positive reviews from critics and audiences. The audience has especially been appreciative of Anirudh's work as a composer in the film.

Even before the film's release, the DC album has been garnering much appreciation, especially for the trending track 'Raga of Revenge'. With the film's release, however, the album has only added to its fanbase, with several audiences claiming that it is the best work in Anirudh's career. Even those who have shared mixed opinion about the film have praised the soundtrack in it.

On the other hand, GDN has opened in theatres to mixed to negative reviews from critics. In our review, Prashanth Vallavan wrote, "For all its issues, GDN is effective in showing us the incredible life of a renaissance man who had all the potential to transform the country, but was betrayed by nefarious forces and administrative failure. Even with all the technical issues, GDN still tries its best to show us how, despite the life-long obstacles, the tall legacy of GD Naidu still shines through, and that the failures are entirely of society and not of the man."
