Zee Studios, one of the producers of the upcoming Nayanthara-Kavin starrer Hi, revealed that Prabhu plays a character named Indhiran in the film. Prabhu's involvement in the film from first-time director Vishnu Edavan has already been announced, but the makers revealed his character's name and dropped a video offering a first look at the role earlier this Wednesday.
Hi also stars VTV Ganesh as Doctor Shanmugi, Renji Panicker as Daasan, FEFSI Vijayan as Parisutham, Aaditya Kathir as Ganapathi, Amrutha Srinivasan as Lux, Kaavya Arivumani as Mythili, Mirchi Kemy as Dhanya, and Meet Sathyan as Yogendran, among others.
The cast includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, the late K Bhagyaraj, Kureshi, and . The film has been produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan of Rowdy Pictures, alongside SS Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio and Zee Studios. The makers describe it as "a tale that will steal your heart".
Hi is slated for an August 14 release in theatres worldwide. Ahead of its release, the film has received a UA 13+ certificate from the Censor Board. It has a runtime of around 144 minutes.
Vishnu Edavan doubles up as one of the lyricists for the film, and he has penned the lyrics for songs such as 'Kannakuzhiya' and 'Rasagulla'. Before making his directorial debut with Hi, Vishnu earned a name for himself as a lyricist in Tamil cinema. Some of his popular credits as a lyricist are 'Polakattum Para Para' and 'Badass' from the Vijay starrers Master and Leo, respectively.
On the technical front, the upcoming film also has composer Jen Martin, cinematographer Rajesh Shukla, editor Philomin Raj, and art director Sekar B.
