A day after Karthik Subbaraj's next was revealed to be titled Dorothy, the makers have released the teaser for the drama. With music by Ilaiyaraaja, Dorothy will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and will subsequently open in theatres on September 25.
The teaser reveals the film to have a period setting with two friends, Karthi and Subbu, going through life as troublemakers. They are hinted to fawn over a woman named Dorothy (Keerthy Suresh), with a conflict between friends teased. Taking to X, Keerthy Suresh wrote, "Some journeys begin long before the road. Some calls can never be undone. And some bonds are tested by a world determined to tear them apart. This is not just a story of friendship. It's a story of everything that stands in its way."
Karthik Subbaraj is producing the Dorothy under his Dhammam Films banner. Guneet Monga and Aachin Jain are also producing under the Sikhya Entertainment banner, with Jyoti Deshpande producing under the Jio Studios banner.
The crew of Dorothy includes cinematographer S Thirunavukkarrasu, editor Ganesh Siva, production designer Kumar Gangappan, and stunt choreographer Dinesh Subbarayan.
