Music composer GV Prakash Kumar reflected on his long association with actor Suriya, his philosophy towards filmmaking, and the people who shaped his career while speaking at the audio launch of Vishwanath and Sons on Sunday.

Calling Vishwanath and Sons a special project, GV Prakash said it marks his reunion with Suriya after Soorarai Pottru, a film that earned both of them their first National Awards. He also revealed that Suriya had extended him personal support during that phase, something he said he would "never forget".

Describing the film, the composer said it is "a warm, feel-good family entertainer" and added that "it will definitely be a feast for Suriya Sir's fans." He also announced that the newly launched high-energy track was dedicated to every Suriya fan, noting that fans had been requesting such a song for a long time.

Speaking about Suriya's performance, G.V. Prakash said, "Suriya sir has delivered an outstanding performance in this film. He's brought so much emotion and charisma to the character." Reflecting on completing two decades in the industry, the composer said he deliberately approaches every project with the mindset of a newcomer. "I always feel like I'm working on my very first film. That's the best mindset. Every film is a test, and every film is my debut."

He added that once a project is completed, he prefers to move on instead of dwelling on past achievements, saying that is the only way to keep rediscovering oneself. GV Prakash also named Suriya among the people who continue to inspire him. "Even after all these years, Suriya sir continues to inspire people in such a huge way. People like him are my inspiration."

When asked about the lyricist he misses the most, GV Prakash remembered the late Na Muthukumar, who wrote lyrics for his first 50 films. "I always miss Na Muthukumar sir. Wherever you are, I love your voice and your lyrics. You will always be remembered." On singers who challenge him creatively, the composer singled out Shankar Mahadevan. "The way he improvised 'Urugudhe' surprised me so much as a performer. I think he is one of the very best."

Asked to name his musical icon, GV Prakash had no hesitation in choosing AR Rahman, recalling his days as Rahman's assistant and the encouragement he continues to receive from his mentor. "Whenever I win an award, he's the first person to congratulate me. When a guru and mentor like him encourages me, that's a bigger award than anything else," he said.
