Ever since the promotions for Suriya's Vishwanath And Sons began, producer Naga Vamsi has been expressing confidence on the box office success of the Venky Atluri-directed film. Speaking at the audio launch of the drama, he once again reiterated his stance and hoped that the film will be as successful as Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020) in Tamil.
"It's our second film in Tamil. From day 1, I have been promising fans that I will give back Sanjay Ramasamy after a long time. I am Telugu, and I know many would have watched Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. I am not comparing or arrogant, but we are so confident about this film that we are hoping that this will be our Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Tamil," he stated.
He also heaped praise on Mamitha Baiju's performance, saying that Gen-Z audiences would love her in the film. Naga Vamsi further shared a "leak" of a scene from the first half. He narrated, "There is a comedy scene in the first half where Suriya sir experiences a small thing with his mother, because of Mamitha. If anybody has had similar experiences with their mother, please text me on social media."
In Vishwanath & Sons, Suriya plays Sanjay Vishwanath, a single father in his 40s who is also a talented sharpshooter. But as age catches up and a much younger girl Maddy (Mamitha Baiju) falls in love with him, he finds himself in crossroads between love, ambition and the question of what really makes a life worth living.
Besides Suriya and Mamitha Biju, the film also stars Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik.
Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was a massive hit when it released. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film followed a young man whose world is turned upside down upon discovering that he was the real son of a millionaire switched at birth. The film earned over Rs 280 crore at the box office and won several laurels.
