Karthik Subbaraj praises Dhanush's Kara: 'Robbery sequences were a blast'

Karthik Subbaraj has taken to social media to share his praise for Dhanush's latest release, Kara. The film, which released today (April 30), is directed by Por Thozhil-fame Vignesh Raja.

Taking to his X hanlde, the director-producer wrote, "An Interesting heist thriller well made with a very interesting rural conflict... Kara. As usual Super performance by Dhanush. Robbery sequences were a Blast!! Congratulations & All the very best to whole cast n crew for a Blockbuster Success."

With Dhanush in the titular role as Kara (a) Karasaami, the cast of the film includes Mamitha Baiju as Selli, Jayaram as Muthu Selvan, KS Ravikumar as Kandhasaami, Suraj Venjaramoodu as Bharathan, and Karunaas as Kasi Maayan, Sreeja Ravi as Dhanam, and Prithvi Pandiarajan as Murugesan. National Award winning actor, MS Bhaskar is also part of the film, with his character yet to be revealed. The film is set in Ramanathapuram, during the early 1990s, in a time of fuel crisis, due to the onset of the Gulf War of 1991.

Karthik Subbaraj had earlier collaborated with Dhanush on Jagame Thandiram (2021). He was behind the recently released war drama, Neelira.
