Following Anugraha's "last video" on the ongoing Resort series controversy, Nakshatra Murthy has let out a statement on her official Instagram handle, in which she has said that she and her husband, Vijay Kumar Rajendran, will be moving forward with a defamation suit.

Just a few hours ago, Anugraha let out another video refuting Vijay Kumar Rajendran’s claim that she had taken an advance of Rs 25,000 and failed to return it, asserting that the amount was part of her unpaid dues. She stated that she was told it would be adjusted against her future salary, despite not receiving consistent work after September.

Directly addressing Anugraha, Nakshatra wrote, "Anugraha, let this be your final notice. Dragging my marriage into a public forum and making baseless, defamatory claims about my character and my husband is a line you should never have crossed. A private disagreement regarding your male friend's inappropriate late-night behaviour does not give you the right to manufacture lies for public consumption. We have documented your statements, and since you've chosen to handle this via public defamation, we will be handling the consequences through the court."

She then asserted that she had all the rights to stand up for her family. "To claim I married for 'fame and limelight' is a desperate attempt to distract from the fact that your MALE friend was the one shouting at my husband in the middle of the night. I will always stand up for my family, but I won't stoop to your level by arguing in public. We'll be moving forward with a defamation suit," she wrote, concluding her statement with, "This is to Anugraha Nambiar."

The row began when Anugraha alleged that she had not been paid for her work on the JioHotstar series Resort and had not been called for shoots for several months. She also claimed that she faced an epileptic seizure during this period and was left in severe financial distress, even struggling to afford basic necessities.

Further, Anugraha accused Nakshatra Murthy of using derogatory language in a voice message and criticised the lack of empathy shown by the team. She also alleged that Vijay Kumar Rajendran distanced himself from the situation when informed about her health, stating that she should not return to the series.

In response, Nakshatra maintained that Vijay Kumar was only an actor on the project and not financially accountable, while also alleging that the confrontation appeared “pre-planned” and involved abusive behaviour from a person she identified as Anugraha’s associate.

The situation further escalated after Anugraha released a second video, reiterating her claims and asserting that she joined the project based on Vijay Kumar’s assurances, holding him responsible for unfulfilled promises regarding her role and remuneration.

Hours later, Vijay Kumar too shared his statement saying that the production banner was magnanimous enough to allow her to participate in an audition on a shoot day and even paid her the full amount for the day, although she shot only one scene. He then said that she waited until the story introduced a love triangle in hopes that they wouldn't be able to replace her. Vijay also said he will be filing a defamation case against Anugraha.
